The Advisory board

AGID’s Advisory Board comprises distinguished professionals and thought leaders from across the continent and diaspora who offer strategic guidance, sectoral insight, and governance expertise. Their experience spans public policy, development, education, law, and institutional leadership all aligned with AGID’s mission to deepen civic participation and strengthen democratic accountability in Africa. The Board plays a critical role in shaping long-term vision, unlocking partnerships, and ensuring the institute’s work remains transformative and relevant.

Folasade Adefisayo

BSc. Hons. (Ibadan), MBA (Lagos), iPGCE (Nottingham), MA (Ed) Nottingham

Mrs. Folasade Omobola Adefisayo is an esteemed educationist, leadership mentor, and public sector reformer with nearly four decades of experience across the banking, education, and government sectors. She served as Lagos State Commissioner for Education (2019–2023), where she led transformative reforms in digital learning, teacher training, and public-school revitalization.

A former Executive Director/CEO of the Corona Schools’ Trust Council and founder of Leading Learning Ltd, she has advised schools, NGOs, and government agencies on education strategy. She holds degrees from the Universities of Ibadan, Lagos, and Nottingham, and currently sits on multiple local and international boards promoting equity, leadership, and excellence in education.

Mary Izobo

LL.B (Lagos), BL, LL.M (Pretoria), LL.M (Notre Dame), PhD Candidate (Louvain) Founder, Amazon Leadership Initiative (ALI) 

Ms Mary Izobo is the founder of the Amazon Leadership Initiative (The ALI). She is an International Human Rights Lawyer, Gender Equality Advocate and Governance Expert.

Driven by her passion to achieve democratic equal rights for all within her lifetime, she established and pioneered the legal unit and was the Legal Advisor of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), an organ of the African Union (AU), and has worked for the United Nations (UN), the African Union Commission (AUC), the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), the Institute for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) and the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA).

Seyi Adisa

Founder

Seyi Adisa is the founder of the African Governance Institute for Development (AGID), a nation-builder, leadership coach, and public administrator with over 12 years in governance. He served as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and as Principal Private Secretary to the Immediate Past Governor of Oyo State.

A co-founder of T&A Legal, he mentors young leaders through the Politics of Development Podcast, Seyi Adisa Political Show, and Lunch & Learn with Seyi Adisa, while advancing leadership education through the John Maxwell iLead program.

He is a MIPAD 100 Under 40 honoree and was named Oyo State’s Most Influential Young Person (2022) for his impact in politics and governance.

Ope Oyeniyi

Administrative and Resource Manager

Ope Oyeniyi brings  years of leadership and management experience from Nigeria’s development and business sectors. He has successfully managed nonprofit operations, spearheaded youth leadership programs, optimized business processes, and driven digital transformation initiatives. His career spans roles in NGO administration, program design, IT management, and e-business operations, consistently delivering measurable impact.

 As Administrative and Resource Manager, he strengthens institutional systems, streamlines processes, and enhances organizational capacity through effective people and resource management. 

Beyond his professional roles, Ope is passionate about youth mentorship and leadership.

Wasiu Ola Jimoh

Community Engagement Manager

Wasiu Ola Jimoh is a passionate community engagement specialist, migration case expert, and civic advocate with a strong track record in grassroots mobilization, civic education, and reintegration programs.

He currently serves as Community Engagement Manager at the African Governance Institute for Development (AGID), where he leads initiatives focused on youth development, leadership, and grassroots empowerment. Wasiu has introduced innovative programs such as the Value Game—an interactive tool that teaches ethics, responsibility, and leadership in ways accessible to both literate and non-literate audiences.

Beyond program delivery, Wasiu is deeply invested in civic advocacy. He educates young people and marginalized groups on political participation, voter education, and accountability, while also strengthening his leadership capacity through numerous training and mentorship programs. 

Tosin Ijadunola

Coordinator

Elizabeth Tosin Ijadunola is a passionate advocate for good governance, youth leadership, and women’s empowerment. As the Coordinator at AGID, she designs and leads high-impact programs that equip emerging leaders with the skills to drive meaningful change.

From legislative mentorship to civic engagement initiatives, Tosin collaborates with policymakers, institutions, and grassroots organizations to foster inclusive leadership. With deep expertise in governance education, policy-making, and stakeholder engagement, she is dedicated to empowering the next generation to lead with integrity and impact.

Driven by the belief that Africa’s transformation hinges on capable and values-driven leadership, Tosin is deeply passionate about identifying, mentoring, and empowering the next generation of change-makers. She continues to champion inclusive platforms that enable young Africans to step into leadership roles with confidence, competence, and a strong sense of responsibility.

 

Adelayo Adeyemo

Program Manager

Adelayo Oluwaseun Adeyemo serves as the Program Manager at SADI/AGID, where she provides strategic leadership and oversight for initiatives that strengthen education, Technical and vocational skills acquisition, instill good governance values and sustainable community development.

Adelayo has built a track record of excellence in project design, management, execution, and evaluation. Her career spans engagements with reputable international and local organizations where she gained hands-on expertise in program management, advocacy, and capacity building. 

Tamuno-Omubo Victory

Communication Officer

Tamuno-Omubo Victory Monday is a dedicated Communication Officer with a profound commitment to an empowered Africa—a continent that rises as the revered motherland. Passionate about the literary arts, she believes that storytelling and meaningful dialogue are essential tools for driving transformative change.

Throughout her career, Victory Monday has volunteered on numerous projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to educating the next generation and cultivating a vibrant reading culture. Her professional expertise in strategic communication and community engagement enables her to build bridges across diverse communities and advance initiatives that foster sustainable development and social impact
