
The African Governance Institute for Development (AGID) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Folasade Omobola Adefisayo to its Advisory Board. With nearly four decades of distinguished service across banking, education, and public administration, Mrs. Adefisayo brings a wealth of knowledge in leadership development, education reform, and policy innovation.
A trailblazer in Nigeria’s education sector, Mrs. Adefisayo is the Principal Consultant and CEO of Leading Learning Ltd, an education consultancy she founded in 2014. Her experience spans both private and public institutions, where she has worked to strengthen school systems, build teacher capacity, and champion inclusive education practices.
From 2019 to 2023, she served as the Honourable Commissioner for Education in Lagos State, where she led statewide education reforms under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Her efforts included the implementation of digital learning initiatives, school infrastructure upgrades, teacher training programs, and student welfare improvements.
Prior to her public service, Mrs. Adefisayo held key leadership roles in the private education sector, notably as Executive Director and CEO of the Corona Schools’ Trust Council (2002–2010), and later as Director of Corona Secondary School, Agbara. She holds multiple academic distinctions, including an iPGCE and MA in Education from the University of Nottingham, where she graduated with distinction.
Mrs. Adefisayo is widely recognized for her voluntary work in education activism. She has collaborated with a wide range of NGOs and public institutions including the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind, Teach for Nigeria, Volunteer Corps, Fate Foundation, YEDI, and the Oando Foundation.
Her board experience is extensive, currently serving in advisory roles for:
